I just heard about this story and had to share. Angela Davis 24 years old had her locks for 10 years and was hired at a Missouri loan company 2 months prior to the companies new policy that took into effect. She must cut off her locks if she wants to keep working for the company.
Locks are not just a braid style that you keep for maybe as long as a month. Locks are a life style and the fact that she's had them for 10 years. Her locks are a part of her.
Hi guys, It's been a long time but I still have my sisterlocks. I'm now re-tightening them myself and I am so happy even though it takes me 5 days to complete my entire head. I just take my time and re-tighten them in sections. I don't know what took me so long to be a DIY-er!
I have been doing updo's most of the time because it's too hot to wear them down. I love curling my locks on pipe cleaners and taking them out without unraveling them. I just simply pin them all up. Here is my latest updo.
I know it's hard to see but I promise next time I will have better pictures.
I went over to my daughters house and she was so excited to show me this natural hair magazine (Mhe...My Hair Experience) I never heard of it. Apparently, it's a new natural hair magazine that's in Atlanta, GA.
There are 2 pages that's featuring Pretty Dimples showing her hairstyles. I'm on the top of page 45 Yay!!! I was elated! My daughter gave me a lovely updo that I loved very much and got lots of compliments from my friends.
Here are the pictures:
The magazine is beautiful high gloss pages and so many lovely natural hairstyles and beautiful ladies inside. Have you heard of it or seen this magazine?
See little ole me on the right at the top. Lol! I am so proud of "pretty dimples" she can put a style together so quickly and precise that she blows my mind.
I know it's been awhile since I've posted. I'm still alive. Lol! I have such a hard time taking good pictures that's why sometimes I don't post. I was in a friends wedding so I decided to try curling my locks with pipe cleaners. I like the results. Wow! they are so tightly curled and full.
Not the best pictures but you get the idea. I hope you like my curls. Have you tried pipe cleaners?
Taking care of our scalp as All Lock wearers is a must. Some great products to use for the scalp are Apple Cider Vinegar as a hair rinse. Black Walnut tea to get rid of bacteria on the scalp. Essential oils like Lavender, tea tree, are good to fight yeast on the scalp. Cinnamon oil is a blood circulator for the scalp. More blood to the follicles means more nourishment and stronger, longer hair. Caster oil is good for dryness too.
I'm still alive and my sisterlocks are growing. I did get a tiny bit of a trim last month. I know it doesn't look like it. My plan is to get rid of the blond ends. It was a test run for me because I was so afraid that they would unravel due to my texture and lots of my ends are still open. So far so good! Now, it's time for another trim.
